Project Access Finder documentation
Everything a Jira admin needs to install Project Access Finder and everything a user needs to use it.
Install
- Open the Marketplace listing (available at release) and choose Get it now.
- Pick the Jira site to install on. You need to be a site admin.
- Review the permissions below and confirm. Installation takes under a minute.
Permissions
Project Access Finder runs on Atlassian Forge and requests these scopes. It does not call any service outside Atlassian.
| Scope | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
read:jira-work | Read project names and keys |
read:jira-user | Show project leads and project administrators |
storage:app | Store admin settings (hidden projects) in Forge storage |
Use the app
- A user opens the app from the Jira navigation and searches for a project by name or key.
- The app lists the project lead and everyone holding the project administrator role.
- Jira admins can hide specific projects from the list on the app's settings page.
FAQ
Does the app change any permissions?
No. It only reads project roles to show who can grant access. It never grants, removes, or modifies permissions.
Can users see projects they don't have access to?
They see the project name and who to ask. They don't see issues or any project content, and admins can hide sensitive projects entirely.
What happens to stored data if I uninstall?
Forge deletes the app's storage for your site when the app is uninstalled.
